“Love recognizes no barriers, it jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination, full of hope.”

CREATIVE PROCESS

I always say that there are photographers who take photos. And there are photographers who MAKE ART. I am not just a photographer, but I am also a creative by nature. I am constantly looking outside the edges of a scene to see what can be pulled in to make an incredible image for you to have forever. Whether it be the way to windows line up, to the way to sun is hitting some tall grasses, to angling the people in my scene to balance the photo just right. These are the thoughts that I am constantly running through in my mind as I work with you on your wedding day. I pride myself in my ability to stage a photo in a scene I see…yet not stage my clients so that the product can still be a very candid look and feel. While I do love to organize those large group family and friend photos, there is something really special about being able to see and capture a person in their truest sense.

PERSONALITY

Personality is a biggie! You want someone who can jump right into the mix. I am not just your photographer at your wedding, I am here to help you every step on the way from that first phone call, thru the planning stages, all the way to that last song on the dance floor! I help you create a wedding day of time line and I help you organize your family into a list for photos. If you need recommendations on any vendors I happen to know quite a few good ones! A good photographer is going to be like your best friend. I will be there to help corral the family, keep things organized, and communicate with your coordinator and other vendors along the way, etc. I get to be part photographer, part family fun extra, and part life coach all bundled up into one! Oh, and FUN. We have fun the whole way thru the process. Promise!

MY GEAR + APPROACH

I am a Canon girl through and through. When I was 17, I got my first “real” film camera, a Canon. I put “real” in quotes, because I truly believe that it takes way more then the latest technology to be good photographer. To me, it’s more about how you see and what is going on in the mind as you are capturing. As well as how much experience you have under your belt. As time evolved I moved up to some newer fancier Canon film cameras. To this day, despite the shift into the digital world with Canon 6Ds and now mirror-less Canon r6, still use my cameras 100% manually, dialing in my film speeds, my f/stops, and ISO according to my surrounding light sources. Even when I use flash indoors, it is all used by manually dialing in what I need to still preserve a very natural look and approach. I have a very basic and minimalist approach to my work. You will never find me toting in light stands and external lighting, ever. I strive to have my photography maintain a very natural look to it.
